Romantic and stylish ground floor room with a king bed, a c1900 Italian Liberty-style marble-topped, curved-face inlaid-wood dresser and nightstands, and a priest's bookcase converted to a wardrobe. The walls have numerous Italian scenes painted by Geneva Patterson from trips between 1964 and 1989, as well as lithographs and magazine covers recalling the early part of the century. The bedroom's south windows look onto the screened porch (with shutters for full privacy) and onto the garden, and the west windows are shaded by the large boxwood outside. Seating is offered by two wing chairs, well suited to reading or watching a film. A wall-mounted monitor with built-in dvd player and networked media player is viewable from the chairs or the bed. The adjacent private bathroom has a bathtub, and a variety of scented shower gels and bath salts along with scented candles. No shower, but there is a handheld shower hose for hair washing or rinsing off while seated.
